GAPP, the German-American Partnership Program, is an exchange program that provides high school students with the opportunity to learn about German culture and study the German language - in Germany.
This exciting program motivates students to learn a second language and gain more knowledge about Germany's culture, people and history. Learning a language is more meaningful and satisfying when students know they'll get to use it visiting a country where the language is spoken.
It's a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for students to experience Germany as a resident instead of a tourist. Students live with a German student's family and share in their daily life, attending their school and social functions, and exploring their values. GAPP creates friendships between teenagers of two different cultures, leaving prejudices and judgements behind. Books can only go so far; this program takes students there.
The German experience begins with Lufthansa.
