A new way to achieve elite status in Miles & More
As of September 1, 1997, you can also achieve Frequent Traveller or Senator status based on the number of segments you have flown on Lufthansa and our Star Alliance partners within a calendar year.
Each Business or First Class segment you fly will count as two points, one point for each Economy Class segment. Once you have reached 40 points you will have achieved Frequent Traveller status and 120 points earns you Senator status.
A new star is being added to "Star Alliance".
As of October 26, 1997, Varig, a Miles & More partner will be the sixth airline to join Star Alliance. This new addition, gives you another way to earn status miles to achieve Senator or Frequent Traveller status.
We say good-bye to Finnair.
Finnair will no longer be a Miles & More airline partner as of January 1, 1998. You can earn miles and redeem for awards on Finnair up until December 31, 1997. Free awards and upgrades issued on/before December 31, 1997, will be valid for 12 months - as mentioned in the Terms & Conditions.
Earn extra miles by booking online with Lufthansa
Log on and earn bonus miles. We have extended the period for bonus miles you can earn for each Lufthansa flight you book via the InfoFlyway and subsequently fly. You earn 250 miles per segment with a maximum of 1,000 bonus miles.
Booking class W-- important changes
More and more opportunities are available for you to earn miles in Miles & More, however mileage accrual on Lufthansa flights booked in W Class is no longer eligible for mileage credit.
