| At the end of October, the Brazilian airline VARIG became the sixth member of Star Alliance. Star Alliance now encompasses the route network of the largest South American airline. Frequent flyer can collect status miles on VARIG flights, and authorized passengers can use VARIG's lounges in Rio de Janeiro, Sao Paulois, Buenos Aires, Tokyo and Los Angeles. VARIG serves 68 destinations in 24 countries. |
