Vancouver - "FAST TRACK" transit facility Effective August 26, 1997, arriving Lufthansa passengers en route to Seattle, Portland and other U.S. destinations will only have to pass through U.S. Customs and Immigration. Passengers through-check their baggage from the point of origin to their final U.S. destination, thus bypassing Canadian Customs and Immigration. Upon arrival in YVR, Lufthansa customers should proceed via level IV directly to U.S. Customs and Immigration on level III. The facility is called ITPC (Intransit Preclearance Facility), which is also the pick-up point for through-checked baggage. U.S.-bound transit passengers, after clearing Customs and Immigration, should leave their bag at a drop off point for reloading and may then proceed to their departure gate of their connection flight. Joining "FAST TRACK" is Lufthansa's commitment to our valued passengers in the Pacific Northwest, to provide the most convenient transfer option available via Vancouver Int'l airport. Brochures and maps designed specifically for transit passengers are available free from the Vancouver Int'l Airport Authority. Tel. (604) 276-6510 Fax.
