Lufthansa is proud to offer nonstop flights from Houston to Frankfurt, Germany operating four times weekly on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday. On the remaining three days a week, Houston passengers can travel to Frankfurt via our one-stop flight. This new service begins on March 29, 1998 and offers excellent connections to Germany and beyond!

First and Business Class International flights: Freedom from mind and body

Vancouver - "FAST TRACK" transit facility

Effective August 26, 1997, arriving Lufthansa passengers en route to Seattle, Portland and other U.S. destinations will only have to pass through U.S. Customs and Immigration. Passengers through-check their baggage from the point of origin to their final U.S. destination, thus bypassing Canadian Customs and Immigration.

Upon arrival in YVR, Lufthansa customers should proceed via level IV directly to U.S. Customs and Immigration on level III. The facility is called ITPC (Intransit Preclearance Facility), which is also the pick-up point for through-checked baggage. U.S.-bound transit passengers, after clearing Customs and Immigration, should leave their bag at a drop off point for reloading and may then proceed to their departure gate of their connection flight.

Lufthansa, United, SAS, Thai Airways, and Air Canada today announce the formation of "Star Alliance", an integrated worldwide air transport network which will make global travel simpler and more convenient for you. Look for the Star Alliance logo, which will be recognized as a mark of quality and customer benefits worldwide.

Benefits of Star Alliance include:

• Frequent flyer rewards: You can credit mileage for travel on any Star Alliance airline to the participating mileage program of your choice. Those miles will then count towards elite status in any one of the five members' programs.
• Global access: The extensive domestic and international route networks of these airlines together serve 578 cities in 106 countries. You'll benefit from the simplicity and consistency of "same-airline" travel to this wide range of destinations worldwide.
• Airport lounges: Qualified customers can enjoy reciprocal privileges at 185 airport lounge facilities of Star Alliance airlines around the world.

New Lufthansa/United Airlines code-share cities

Lufthansa now flies to Germany from: Memphis, TN; Knoxville, TN; Birmingham, AL; San Antonio, TX; Austin, TX; Sioux Falls, SD; Louisville, KY; Lincoln, NE; and Saginaw, MI. These cities are served via Chicago in cooperation with our partner United Airlines. Together we now offer code-share flights from a total of 56 cities in the U.S. And when you add Lufthansa's 10 gateways, that makes a total of 66 U.S. departure cities to choose from.

Lufthansa named "Best Airline to Eastern Europe"

For the fourth year in a row, Lufthansa has been selected by the readers of Business Traveler International magazine as the "Best Airline to Eastern Europe." Lufthansa is the leading western airline to Eastern Europe, offering close to 400 flights per week to 28 cities in 19 countries throughout the region. As of March 31, this includes our newest destinations in the Russian Federation, Kazan and Perm.

Convenient services help you make more of your time in Europe

Now business travelers can enjoy more comfortable and more convenient travel on Lufthansa routes within Europe. Personal Lufthansa Check-In Service Numbers and Curbside Check-In make check-in easier. At selected airports, special Business Class waiting areas near the gates and Business Class Lounges enable passengers to make good use of their time with services like telephones, fax machines, laptops with online connection, copiers and even showers. And our Easy Boarding System gets passengers seated fast.

Frankfurt's new Business Class Lounge offers comfort and convenience

The new Business Class Lounge, located at Pier A in Lufthansa Terminal 1, seats 350 people and is divided into separate areas to meet the varying needs of Lufthansa passengers. A rest and reading area as well as a tranquil zone are ideal for passengers who simply wish to relax or those who want to catch up on sleep. Showers are also available for freshening up. Passengers who want to work can take advantage of workstations equipped with a wide range of office equipment, including PCs with standard software and Internet access, fax machines and docking stations for laptops.

The new lounge also features a separate conference room and a bistro where snacks and cold and hot drinks are served and newspapers and magazines are made available.

Miles & More award levels reduced up to 44%

Lufthansa has reduced award levels in our frequent flyer program, Miles & More, so that members in the U.S. and Canada can enjoy faster rewards. Members will see savings of up to 44% for award travel, depending on the class of service flown. In Miles & More, members can earn miles up to twice as fast as any other frequent flyer program. Plus, members continue to receive triple miles in First Class and double miles in Business Class. They also continue to earn 1,000 minimum miles on U.S. domestic flights on alliance partner United Airlines. And on Air Canada domestic flights, members can earn 1,000 minimum miles on full-fare tickets.

Save with special "Discover Europe" fares
